4th of July Fireworks and Celebrations in the Charlotte Area
Throughout North Carolina

July 4th is always Free Fishing Day in North Carolina. Fish in any public body of water without a license. Other regulations, such as size limitations and lure restrictions, still apply. If you don’t have fishing equipment, many facilities operate a tackle loan program.
WBT SkyShow

WBT SkyShow: SkyShow 2023 follows the Charlotte Knights game on Tuesday, July 4th, 2023. The game starts at 6:35 p.m. Tickets, which start at $25, are on sale now, and will most likely sell out. You can also watch the fireworks from Romare Bearden Park.
4th of July Celebration at U.S. National Whitewater Center

U.S. National Whitewater Center 4th of July Celebration
Monday, July 3rd, 2023, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Tuesday, July 4th, 2023, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Free admission, free yoga. Parking is $6. Center activities are regular price.
The Whitewater Center’s 4th of July Celebration is back! It features two days of yoga and live music. As of now, there will not be fireworks, but we will update if that changes. Live music by Chatham Rabbits Haynes Carll on Monday, and by Dangermuffin and Pigeons Playing Ping Pong on Tuesday.
Mount Pleasant
Mount Pleasant, in Cabarrus County, is celebrating Independence Day early, on June 24th, 2023. The celebration includes a parade, live music and “A Taste of Mount Pleasant,” which showcases local restaurants.
Charlotte Motor Speedway
Cook Out Summer Shootout will feature post-race fireworks on Tuesday, July 4, 2023. Also, first responders and military get free admission with ID. Regular admission is $10, and is free for kids 12 and under.
Optimist Hall
Optimist Hall: Check back soon. In past year, it has hosted a fireworks show for the 4th of July.
Carowinds Celebrate America Fireworks Show

Carowinds will put on a fireworks show on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at 10:30 p.m.
Town of Harrisburg 4th of July Celebration
Harrisburg’s 4th of July Celebration is a two-day party with a parade, live music, rides and fireworks. The parade is on the morning of July 4. The festival, which takes place at Harrisburg Park, takes place July 3 and 4, 2023. Headlining bands are Sister Hazel and Generation Radio.
Indian Trail Parade
The Indian Trail July 4th Parade takes place Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. It travels down Indian Trail Road from the Post Office to Old Monroe Road.
Town of Matthews
The Town of Matthews 2023 Independence Day celebration takes place on Friday, June 30th, 2023. First there will be a concert, with family-friendly activities, at Stumptown Park, from 5 to 9 p.m., with the music starting at 7 p.m. And then head to MARA and Matthews United Methodist Church’s viewing areas for fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
Kannapolis Cannon Ballers
In Kannapolis, the Cannon Ballers play the Down East Wood Ducks on July 4th, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. The game features an Independence Day Celebration and post-game fireworks. More info on the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers 4th of July Celebration.
City of Gastonia 4th of July Celebration

City of Gastonia Fourth of July Celebration is taking place Tuesday, July 4th, 2023, from 5 to 9:30 p.m., at Rotary Centennial Pavilion, 111 N. South Street, Gastonia. It will feature food trucks, vendors, entertainment, a free KidsZone and fireworks.
Fireworks over Historic Spencer Shops

N.C. Transportation Museum is hosting Fireworks Over Historic Spencer Shops on July 1, 2023. This is a free event that includes lots of kid-friendly entertainment and fireworks. There’s also a chance to take a ride in a WWII era Dodge Weapons Carrier.
Charlotte Museum of History

Charlotte Museum of History’s Independence Day Celebration is on July 4, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The highlight is a group of new United States citizens completing the Oath and Naturalization Ceremony. There will also be music, a keynote address, and opportunities for voter registration and education. Free to attend. The museum will be open only for this event.
Davidson
The Town of Davidson’s Independence Day Celebration includes a patriotic stroll on Sunday, July 2, 2023, starting at 5:30 p.m., followed by Concerts on the Green, featuring The Tonez.
Charlotte Symphony’s Celebrate America! Concerts, with Fireworks

Baxter Village July 4th Parade

Baxter Village’s July 4th parade takes place Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. Anyone can participate and you don’t need to register. Just meet behind Killington’s Restaurant at 940 Market Street, Fort Mill, SC, by 9 a.m., with your decorated golf cart, jeep, truck, float, etc., and you can join the parade. Walking and bicycling units are welcome too.
Cramerton Independence Day Celebration
Town of Cramerton’s 4th of July Celebration takes place Saturday, July 1, 2023, from 7 to 10 p.m., at Goat Island Park. The highlight will be the fireworks display.
Kings Mountain Red, White and Boom!

Kings Mountain’s Red White and Boom celebration on Saturday, July 1, 2023, includes two events, both free.
Bring the family to Patriots Park, 220 South Railroad Avenue, Kings Mountain, starting at 6:30 p.m. There wiBring your family to Patriots Park in Downtown for food trucks, inflatables, DJ, and live music from the Voltage Brothers from 6:00pm – 10:00pm. An amazing patriotic laser light show will take over Patriots Park at 9:45pm!
And the City of Kings Mountain will be presenting their signature fireworks display at 9:45pm from the Deal Park Walking Track (located behind the YMCA) with music that syncs to the show from your on radio at 101.1 FM.
Lake Wylie Fireworks Display
The Lake Wylie fireworks are shot off from Lake Wylie by the Buster Boyd Bridge, S.C. Hwy 49. The event takes place Tuesday, July 4, 2023, around 9:30 p.m. Follow the above link for details about viewing locations.
Stars and Stripes on Main Parade in Mooresville

Celebrate Mooresville’s birthday and America’s birthday all in one day at this patriotic Fourth of July parade. Mooresville’s past, present, and future will be on display with an imaginative line-up of colorful parade floats, historic vehicles, and plenty of hometown pride. Stars and Stripes on Main Parade takes place on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at 10 a.m., on Main Street in Mooresville.
Lowes YMCA
Lowes YMCA, 170 Joe V. Knox Ave, in Mooresville, presents Field of Flags on their front lawn and hosts a 4th of July celebration with fireworks every year. Check back soon.

Red, White & BOOM!, Old Town Rock Hill’s very popular 4th of July celebration, features fireworks, free inflatables, live music, an ice cream eating contest and more. It takes place on Monday, July 3, 2023, from 5 to 10 p.m.
Fort Mill Independence Day Celebration
The Fort Mill Independence Day Celebration takes place Monday, July 3, 2023, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at Walter Elisha Park, 345 N White Street, Fort Mill, SC. It features music, vendors, food trucks, a special ceremony and a fireworks show. The town is also celebrating its 150th anniversary.
Birkdale Village’s 4th of July Celebration

Birkdale Village’s 4th of July celebration takes place Tuesday, July 4, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It features a bike parade, block party, entertainment, and the Huntersville Fire Department’s annual wet down!
Red, White & Belmont
Belmont’s Red, White & Belmont celebration takes place Saturday, June 30th, 2023, from 6 to 10 p.m. on South Main Street in Belmont. It features live music by 20 Ride, fireworks and food.
York, SC
