Gaston County and the Town of Dallas, North Carolina, are hosting a full day of festivities for America’s 250th birthday on Saturday, July 4, 2026.
The day includes:
The day starts with a celebration from 12 to 2 p.m. at Gaston County Museum, 131 West Main Street, Dallas, North Carolina, and then continues with the parade 2 p.m.

Bring the whole family for an afternoon packed with summer fun including the best of all– the Great American Apple Pie Bake-Off Competition, where local bakers will compete for patriotic pie glory!
Come cool off, celebrate community, and kick off your Fourth of July festivities!
The celebration includes:
- A huge Foam Party
- Fire truck spray down
- Kids crafts
- Face painting
- Music from DJ Alfredo.
- FREE Tony’s Ice Cream!
- Hot dogs from Will’s Doggin’ It
- Pound cakes from Karma Cakes to benefit the Museum!

For this event, streets where the parade takes place will be closed to traffic from noon and will not be reopened until 5 p.m. Free public parking is available at:
- Public lot at 175 W. Dallas Towne Plaza (off of Trade St.)
- First Presbyterian Church, 412 W. Trade St,
- Public lot at 420 W. Wilkins St.
- Public lot at 250 W. Wilkins St,
- Dallas Town Hall, 210 S. Holland St.
- Public lot at northeast corner of N. Gaston St. and W. Trade St. (NC 275)
- Behind Dallas Church of God (311 S. College St.)
- Public lot at 352 S. College St.
Overflow parking for the event will be available at Dallas Park (1303 W. Dallas Cherryville Hwy) and Venture Church (800 E. Main St.), with a free shuttle service being provided by the county that takes you to and from the Historical Dallas Courthouse.

Town of Dallas’ 4th of July evening celebration features a concert by Next Level Band of Charlotte, food trucks, and fireworks. The fireworks are scheduled to begin a little bit after 9 p.m.
