Throughout North Carolina
July 4th is always Free Fishing Day in North Carolina. Fish in any public body of water without a license. Other regulations, such as size limitations and lure restrictions, still apply. If you don’t have fishing equipment, many facilities operate a tackle loan program.

SkyShow: SkyShow 2024 follows the Charlotte Knights game on Thursday, July 4th, 2024. The game starts at 6:35 p.m. Tickets are on sale now, and will most likely sell out. You can also watch the fireworks from Romare Bearden Park.

Town of Matthews
The Town of Matthews 2024 Independence Day celebration takes on two days. On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, there will be a fireworks spectacular at the Matthews SportsPlex, 2425 Sports Parkway, Matthews, North Carolina.
Then on Thursday, July 4, 2024, the Independence Day celebration takes place at Stumptown Park from 5 to 9 p.m. and includes live music, patriotic fun, food trucks and kids’ activities. Music by 20Ride — Zac Brown Tribute Band.

Charlotte Symphony’s Celebrate America! Concerts, with Fireworks
Charlotte Symphony Orchestra presents their Celebrate America! Concert, followed by fireworks. There is one concert that requires tickets, and a couple that are free:

Birkdale Village’s 4th of July Celebration
Check back soon for Birkdale Village’s 4th of July celebration. Traditionally this celebration takes place during the day on July 4 and features a bike parade, block party, entertainment, and the Huntersville Fire Department’s annual wet down!

Carowinds Celebrate America Fireworks Show
Carowinds will put on a fireworks show on Wednesday, July 3, and Thursday, July 4, 2024.
Pineville
Check back soon to see if there will again be a 4th of July celebration on Main Street in Historic Downtown Pineville. In 2023, it included live music, food trucks, an artisan market a free face painting.
4th of July in Cabarrus County
Mount Pleasant
Mount Pleasant, in Cabarrus County, is celebrating Independence Day early, on June 22, 2024. The celebration includes a parade, live music and “A Taste of Mount Pleasant,” which showcases local restaurants. The evening ends with a fireworks show.
Charlotte Motor Speedway
Check back soon for information on Cook Out Summer Shootout. Generally, one event will end with fireworks.
Town of Harrisburg 4th of July Celebration
Harrisburg’s 4th of July Celebration is a two-day party with a parade, live music, rides and fireworks. The parade is on the morning of July 4. The festival, which takes place at Harrisburg Park, takes place July 3 and 4, 2024. The festival ends with fireworks both nights.
Kannapolis Cannon Ballers
In Kannapolis, the Cannon Ballers play the Fayetteville Woodpeckers on July 4th, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. The game features an Independence Day Celebration and post-game fireworks. More info on the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers 4th of July Celebration.
Shriners International 4th of July Parade
Check back soon to see if the Shriners International Imperial Session will be presenting a 4th of July Parade at xMax Dragway, as they did in 2023. Prior to the parade there was a cruise-in, with cars, motorcycles, music and food trucks.

Cramerton Independence Day Celebration
Town of Cramerton’s 4th of July Celebration takes place Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 5 to 10 p.m., at Centennial Center, 140 8th Avenue, Cramerton, North Carolina. Fireworks will be set off from Goat Island.
Kings Mountain’s Revolutionary 4th
Kings Mountain, NC is presenting Revolutionary 4th on Thursday, July 4, 2024, from 6 to 10 p.m., at the Deal Park Walking Track. The evening will end with a fireworks display.

Mount Holly 4th of July Celebration
The City of Mount Holly 4th of July Celebration takes place Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 6 to 10 p.m. starting at 5:30 p.m., in the Downtown Mount Holly Historic District. It features live music by Coming Up Brass, followed by a fireworks display. There will be food trucks and a kids’ zone.

The City of Cherryville’s Independence Day Celebration takes place Wednesday, July 3, 2024, from 6 to 10 p.m., at Rudisill Stadium, which is next to W.B. Beam Intermediate School, 401 East First Street, Cherryville, NC. The 4th of July celebration features live music from The Tams and is hosted by DJ Johnny B., followed by fireworks. There will also be food available for purchase.

The Town of Troutman is presenting an Independence Day Parade on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 11 a.m. The parade will travel on Old Murdock Road from CATS to Hwy 21/Main St, turn left, travel Main St, and end at the American Legion/ Troutman Elementary School area at Cedar Lane.

Rock Hill’s 4th of July Celebration takes place on Thursday, July 4, 2024, from 12 to 7 p.m., at City of Rock Hill Amphitheater, 144 Black Street E, Rock Hill, South Carolina. It will feature rides, inflatables, bubbles, food trucks, confetti and more. There will not be fireworks.
