The Novant Health Thanksgiving Parade takes place on Thanksgiving Eve, Wednesday, November 23rd. Use this big list as a guide to the most spectacular Christmas light displays in the Charlotte area, including professional displays, municipal displays, and especially impressive displays on houses. Thanksgiving Weekend is the first full weekend of the FIFA Men's World Cup. Some of the top Charlotte and North Carolina artists are paying homage to Led Zeppelin in this fundraising concert. Led Zeppelin Tribute to Benefit takes place at Neighborhood Theatre on Wednesday, November 23rd, 2022, at 8 p.m. It raises money for Levine Children's Hospital. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 the day of show, plus fees. The tickets are available only online. Olde Mecklenburg Brewery transforms into a German-inspired Christmas market for four weekends, starting Thanksgiving weekend. It features tons of vendors, and lots of festive cheer. It is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. Every Wednesday night, get free admission to Bechtler Museum, Mint Museum Uptown and the Gantt Center. Bring a main, a side, or a dessert to share at this potluck, which takes place on Thanksgiving, November 24th, 2022, from 4 to 9 p.m. Bring something delicious to share. There will be board games and table games after dinner. Bring a canned food donation or $5 donation for the local food bank. Friday, November 25th, is one of the Schiele Museum of Natural History's free afternoons. Make your reservation in advance. November 26th is the first of four Small Business Saturday events in South End. Celebrate the holidays at South End Farmers' Market at Atherton Mill from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and then enjoy street festivals at Camden Road and Winnifred Street. Shop for handcrafted and food gift items at Hot Stuff Holiday Pop-Up Market at Petra's, at 1919 Commonwealth Avenue, on Sunday, November 27th. Enjoy live music and food trucks outside of Mint Museum Randolph on Sunday, November 27th, from 1 to 5 p.m. This is a free event, and also includes museum admission. Get out and walk off some of that turkey! We include self-guided neighborhood walking tours, hikes through nature preserves, and much more. Starting November 23rd, go to Truist Field for Charlotte Christmas Village and Light the Knights. Shop for unique gifts, enjoy holiday treats, and take in the entertainment, all with Charlotte's skyline as the backdrop. This year there will also be ice skating and snow tubing! Admission is $5 to $10. Skating and Tubing are extra. (Not open on Thanksgiving Day.) The Whitewater Center will be once again hosting ice skating this winter, starting in mid-November. You'll need to purchase an activity pass to skate. There will be a brand new Lights program with over 50 illuminated installations. It is free to explore Lights (after paying for parking, which is $6.) North Carolina Christmas Extravaganza will be at Cabarrus Arena and Events Center on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free and parking is $7.
