Whether you’re at home or traveling, you can get FREE admission to more than 1,000 venues in all 50 states during the Annual Smithsonian Museum Day Live! on Sept. 23, 2017. To get started, visit the Museum Day site and fill out a form with some basic information.
Then, your ticket will be e-mailed to you for printing. Each ticket is good for FREE admission for two people at a participating museum. The Museum Day ticket is good for two people. If you’re planning on going as a group, consider registering for additional admit-two tickets through friends and family.
You can choose only one museum per email address. So choose wisely and perhaps have your “plus one” choose a different museum.

Mint Museum Uptown on Smithsonian Museum Live! Day
Start the day at at 11 a.m. at Romare Bearden Park for the dedication of Richard Hunt’s new installation, Spiral Odyssey, and then walk just one bock to Mint Museum Uptown for Jazzin’ on the Terrace, a tribute to Bearden and Hunt, at noon and 1:30 p.m.
Venture inside Mint Museum Uptown to view the Romare Bearden Gallery , which hosts the Odysseus Series that Hunt’s sculpture was named for.
View the opening of the Mint’s newest exhibition, William Ivey Long: Costume Designs 20017-2016, part of the Mint’s Year of Fashion.
