
The Charlotte area is ready for fall and Halloween! Here’s a list of haunted trails, corn mazes, fall farm activities and more, for the 2022 season.
Some of these are a little bit of a drive, and are in areas that we don’t typically include in Charlotte on the Cheap, but are worth checking out.

Scarrigan Farms: Haunted trail dates: every Saturday and Friday starting September 30th, 2022. Sundays starting October 9th, and Thursdays starting October 13th, plus October 31st, 2022. The 170 acre farm will be transformed into the scariest haunted trail in the region. Reservations are required.
The cost to attend ranges from $25 to $40 per person. $5 of the total cost is due as a deposit when you make your reservation and the remainder is due at the door in cash or check only (credit and debit cards are not accepted at the door). In exchange for making an advance reservation, each guest will receive a $5 dining voucher to use at the quarry kitchen on the evening of their visit.

Often listed as the best, or one of the best, haunts in North Carolina. Lake Hickory Haunts includes 13 unique haunted attractions, all around the lake.

This 4th generation family farm grows over 100 different types of pumpkins, including heirloom varieties. Tractor-pulled wagon rides include a pumpkin from the patch. There are also playground, tire mountains, a wooden maze, educational exhibits and a corn crib. In addition they sell mountain apples and a large variety of homegrown cooking pumpkins and fall squash.

2022 will be Riverbend Farm’s 30th year as a Pumpkin Patch. They grow several varieties of pumpkins and gourds. There are 4 large wagons that go to and from the fields on the weekends, so you can stay as long as you want. The farm also has a large farm-themed playground and more.

And Pumpkin picking will take place all October, weather permitting. Take a hayride to the pumpkin patch and pick your own pumpkin. Pumpkins under 5 pounds are $1.15 a pound. Pumpkins 5 pounds and larger are 69¢ a pound.
Pick your own pumpkins. There’s a wagon to help you haul the pumpkins out of the patch. No hayrides this year. There’s a kitchen on the farm serving donuts, ice cream, hot dogs, apple cider slushes and other treats.
