Many businesses thank veterans and active military members by offering them a free meal or other gift on Veterans Day, which is Saturday, November 11th, 2017. If you’re a member of the military, please check out this list, and see if there’s a deal that you might be able to take advantage of. If you’re not a military member, you probably know one. Not all of these deals take place exactly on Veterans Day, so make sure to read all the details. Unless otherwise specified, these freebies and deals are for veterans and active duty military and take place Saturday, November 11, 2017. This list also includes special Veterans Day events. Also you’ll want to click the links to find out what form of proof is required to show your status. (And verify that the location you’re interested in is participating.)
Most of the restaurants are national chains, but be sure to check out Charlotte’s own JJ’s Red Hots, with possibly the best deal of all.

Free food and drink
Bob Evans: Free meal November 11. Choice of select meals, including: Stack of Hotcakes, Fresh Baked Brioche French Toast, Country Biscuit Breakfast, Mini Sampler Breakfast, Farm Boy Sandwich, and Country Fried Steak Dinner.
Bonefish Grill: Saturday, November 11th, all active and retired service members with a valid military ID will receive a complimentary Bang Bang Shrimp at all Bonefish Grill locations. November 11.
Chipotle: For all military (active and inactive), buy one-get one free burrito, bowl, salad or taco order on Tuesday, November 7.
Cracker Barrel: Veterans will receive a complimentary Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake dessert on November 11.
Denny’s: Active, inactive personnel: Build Your Own Grand Slam Friday, November 10. This diner classic includes a choice of delicious breakfast items such as two fluffy buttermilk or hearty wheat pancakes, two eggs cooked to order, two sizzling bacon strips or hash browns. The offer is valid from 5 a.m. to noon with a valid military ID.
Dunkin’ Donuts: Charlotte area Dunkin’ Donuts are giving veterans and active duty personnel a free donut on November 11. No purchase necessary. One per person.
Golden Corral: Golden Corral’s annual Military Appreciation Thank You Meal is Monday, November 13th, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Hickory Tavern: 50% off all food and non-alcoholic beverages at all location for vets and military members November 11.
Hooters: By presenting a military ID or proof of service, all active-duty and retired military can enjoy a complimentary meal at Hooters from the following menu with the purchase of a beverage: 10-Piece Traditional Wings, 10-Piece Boneless Wings, Hooters Burger, Buffalo Chicken Salad, Buffalo Chicken Sandwich.
JJ’s Red Hots: At both locations, veterans and active duty military can eat and drink anything they want on November 11. Single dog combo, double dog combo, sausage, sides, drinks, dessert. All free! No limitations. entire menu is available, except alcoholic beverages.
Krispy Kreme: At participating locations, veterans and active duty military can get one free doughnut and a small coffee. No purchase necessary, and you don’t need military ID. It’s on the honor system.
Little Caesars: Veterans and active military members get one free $5 HOT-N-READY Lunch Combo® (“Promotional Item”), which includes four slices of DEEP!DEEP! Dish pepperoni pizza and a 20 ounce Pepsi product, on November 11, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Read the fine print at the above link. There’s lots of it.
Logan’s Roadhouse: November 11, active and former military members get their choice of eight meals, between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.
McCormick & Schmick’s: Free meal for veterans with proof of service. Sunday, November 5. In addition, Gold Star honorees (parents and spouses) also get the free meal. There will be a choice of 10 entrées.
On the Border: November 11, veterans and active duty military members get a free “Create Your Own Combo” meal, which features soup or salad, tacos, tostadas, enchiladas, and other options.
Red Robin: Free Double Tavern Burger and Endless Steak Fries for veterans and military on November 11.
Shoney’s: All veterans and active duty military get a free all-you-care-to-eat breakfast bar on on November 11.

Davidson Wildcats: Veterans and active duty military get into the game on Friday, November 10, for free.
Grapes of Wrath: Veterans and active duty military can get free tickets to Theatre Charlotte’s Grapes of Wrath Friday through Sunday. The offer does not extend to friends or family.

Salute to Veterans Parade: Charlotte’s Veterans Day Parade is on Saturday, November 4. It starts at 700 North Tryon Street at 11 a.m. and ends at 600 South Tryon Street.
Cornelius Veterans Day Celebrations: The celebration in Cornelius, on Saturday, November 11, starts at the Cornelius Arts Center at 9 a.m., with free patriotic arts and crafts for kids. Then it continues at 11 a.m. at the Veterans Monument at Rotary Plaza, at the Town Hall lawn, a 21-gun salute and a performance of patriotic songs by the W.A. Hough High School choir.
Explore History! program at Duke Mansion: Celebrate Veterans Day at Duke Mansion with historical artist Dan Nance on Sunday, November 12, at 3 p.m. Free, but you must RSVP and space is limited. Follow above link.
