The town of Cornelius has expanded its Veterans Day celebrations to include a family arts activity, in addition to its traditional celebration at the Veterans Monument next to the Town Hall.
Veterans Day Celebration for Families
- Saturday, November 10, at 9:30 – 10:45 a.m.
- Cornelius Town Hall lawn (will move indoors in case of inclement weather)
The Cornelius Arts Center invites you and your family to celebrate Veterans Day morning with them by making thank you cards, patriotic arts & crafts, and cookie decorating. These free activities will take place prior to the Veterans Day Program described below.
Veterans Day Program at the Veterans Monument at Rotary Plaza
- Saturday, November 10, at 11 a.m.
- Cornelius Veterans Monument at Rotary Plaza and the Cornelius Town Hall lawn (will move indoors in case of inclement weather)
Join the Town of Cornelius and American Legion Post 86 for our annual Veterans Day Program. This program honors military veterans and those currently serving in our Armed Forces. Post Commander Gene McKinney will lead a ceremony that will include a welcome from Cornelius Mayor Woody Washam, speaker Joseph P. Vaughn, 21-gun salute by American Legion Post 86, and patriotic songs by Rockie Lynne and the W.A. Hough High School Concert Choir.
