Every Wednesday from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., Back to Independence Rehab, 4801 Chastain Avenue, Charlotte, North Carolina, hosts a FREE Parkinson’s PWR!Moves exercise class. The class is led by Dr. Darci Pernoud an Occupational therapist with 20 years of neurological and geriatric experience.
This class will take place every Wednesday, at least through the end of 2024.
Participants will need to go through a free screening/evaluation from Dr. Pernoud before starting.
The class is an exercise-based class based on the PWR!moves program developed specifically to improve the lives of people with Parkinsons of all ages and level of severity. A normal class involves a full hour of exercise, Stretching, and motor training in a group setting led by Dr. Darci Pernoud.
PWR!Moves is designed to focus on targeting the building blocks of function which should result in helping a person with Parkinson’s disease move better, safer and with more independence, as well as slow the disease progression!
Alongside the great health benefits of the class, attendees can connect and become involved in the Parkinsons community here at Back to Independence. The community is extremely welcoming and often does multiple different events together, one of which is the PWR! Moves class!
