The Independent Picture House's Community Impact Film Series: Homelessness on Nov. 8

The Independent Picture House, at 4237 Raleigh Street, Charlotte, is continuing its Community Impact Film Series, focused on timely issues and concerns that impact the people of Charlotte. On November 8, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., the focus is on homelessness.

It is free to attend, and features a film screening of Beyond the Bridge: A Solution to Homelessness, as well as poetry performances, a panel discussion and a resource fair.

Schedule:

11:30 a.m. Poetry performance featuring Jay Ward (Charlotte Poet Laureate)
12:00p.m. Film Screening: Beyond the Bridge: A Solution to Homelessness (80 min.)
1:20 p.m. Panel discussion featuring Don Sawyer and Tim Hashko.
1:45 p.m. Resource Fair & Volunteer Opportunities: sandwich making with for Roof Above program participants.
2:15pm. Poetry performance featuring Jay Ward (Charlotte Poet Laureate)
2:30 p.m. Event ends

Donations will be collected for The Relatives. Items can be dropped off prior to November 8 as well.
