The 28th Festival of India will be a two day festival in 2024, at two different locations:
Day 1
Saturday, September 14, 2024
12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Belk Theater
130 N Tryon Street, Charlotte, North Carolina
Day 2
Sunday, September 15, 2024
12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Ballantyne’s Backyard
11611 N Community House, Charlotte, NC
Day 2, in Ballantyne, is held in partnership with Charlotte International Arts Festival. Read on to learn about each day of the festival.
Day 1 of Festival of India
Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 12 to 8 p.m.
Admission is $6 at the door or $5 online. Admission is free for kids under age 10. Belk Theater, 130 N Tryon Street, Charlotte, North Carolina.
The festival includes:
- Traditional dance
- Bollywood dances
- Exhibits
- Visual arts
- Souvenir Bazaar
- Indian Food Court
- School exhibits
- Kids’ art pavilion
- Henna tattoos
- Sari draping
- Turban tying
- More!
There are performances outside all day, and you’ll also find multiple food vendors and souvenir vendors outside, along Tryon Street, which is closed to traffic during the event. There’s no cost to enjoy the outside performances.
Inside Belk Theater, enjoy dance performances on the main stage. In the lobbies you’ll find art exhibits, and interactive activities like turban tying, henna tattoos, and sari wearing, for low prices. To enjoy the indoor activities, you’ll need to purchase a ticket.
Day 2
Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 12 to 6 p.m. Ballantyne’s Backyard, 11611 N Community House, Charlotte, North Carolina. Free admission.
