Romare Bearden’s Party in the Park, a free live music series, returns on May 6th, 2015 and will continue through the end of August. This “Uptown Sound” series features different genres of music, including party bands, jazz and rock, country and Carolina Beach Music, as well as tribute bands. Guests are invited to bring a picnic and lawn chairs or a blanket as they enjoy the music and the friendly ambiance of the park.This weekly music series takes place Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Romare Bearden Park is at 300 South Church Street. Here’s the schedule.

  1. I will not be attending anything at this park due to the lack of free and accessible parking. I wasted hours trying to find handicap parking when this park first opened; never again.

  2. I’m sorry, Bea. Have you been successful in finding free parking for other Uptown events and venues? I’m not aware of any free parking Uptown but if there is some I’d love to share that information with readers.

    Do you know how bands are booked for this concert series? We have an 80’s Rock Band playing various places in Huntersville, Mooresville and Lake Norman area. Appreciate any info.
