Uptown Farmers Market, at 300 S Davidson Street, Charlotte, North Carolina, is hosting a celebration of its 6 years on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The celebration will include:
Radish Roots Token and Taste

“Radish Roots Token and Taste” is a new 12-week pilot program for children ages 4-12.
Children will receive tokens at the children’s tent, Radish Roots Corner, to shop for fresh
produce and engage with the farmers.
Kid-friendly recipes will be provided for preparing meals at home. All children can register to win two dinner/snack gift baskets specially crafted by Heidi Billotto, Charlotte Culinary Expert, with all the ingredients and recipes for family-friendly meals.
NC Seniors Farmers Market Nutrition Program
The Market is also hosting the NC Seniors Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP)
again this year and registering seniors on Saturday. The summer-only voucher program
provides eligible seniors with $50 in vouchers to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables,
mushrooms, and honey.
This program is a statewide initiative led by the North Carolina Department of Health and
Human Services (NC DHHS), Division of Aging.
In Mecklenburg County, the program is administered by the Charlotte Mecklenburg Food Policy Council, working in partnership with local markets to connect seniors with fresh, local food. Upcoming registration dates at Uptown are July 19, August 2, and August 16.
Triple on the Third
The anniversary celebration will also be on the “Triple on the Third” weekend for SNAP
patrons, and the Market will provide an additional match up to $50 on top of the weekly
Double Bucks match provided by Mecklenburg County. This additional match is made
possible by the Market’s sponsors.
Prizes
All patrons can register to win one of 25 drawings for a $10 gift certificate that can be
spent with any Market vendor.
