Sullenburger Aviation Museum is opening June 1, 2024. The museum is the reimagining of the Carolinas Aviation Museum, which has been closed for several years in anticipation of this redesign.
The museum honors Captain C.B. “Sully” Sullenberger, who, with his crew, safely landed US Airways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River in New York, with no loss of life. This flight, known as the “Miracle on the Hudson,” was en route to Charlotte.
The centerpiece of the museum is the plane that Sullenburger piloted in the “Miracle on the Hudson” landing.
