Everyone is invited to the annual Russian-language Children’s New Year Celebration. This is a fun way to experience the celebration of Russian holiday traditions. It takes place on January 9th, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Dana Auditorium, Queens University, 1900 Selwyn Avenue. Tickets are $5 through December 31, and you can buy them online. They’re $10 at the door.
This yearly interactive event unites many Russian-speaking nations sharing common traditions passed from one generation to another. The celebration consists of a theatrical performance (in Russian) by community artists followed by the children’s talent show and the gift giving by Ded Moroz (Grandfather Frost) and Snegurochka (Snow Maiden).
