Home Comings and Goings is a free exploration of the notion of home through live music, paintings, sculpture and film. It takes place at C3 Lab, 2525 Distribution Street, on Friday, January 15th, 2015, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Here are all the details:
Minneapolis-based artist Preston Drum returns to the city of his birth to mount his most ambitious work to date.
“Home Comings and Goings” is an interactive viewer experience exploring the notion of home through the paintings, sculptures, and videos of Preston Drum.
You are invited to witness a ONE NIGHT ONLY happening that juxtaposes local musicians, Bo White, Brent Bagwell, Robert Childers, Del Rio, Suit City and Zodiac Lovers with the constructed environments of Preston Drum.
Each vignette of the show has been specifically designed to create a dialogue between the maker, the musician and audience members in hopes of simulating a home away from home. With a focus on nonlinear storytelling, “Home Comings and Goings” explores the notion of home. How do we define it and how do our interpersonal relationships affect its existence?
The performance schedule is as follows:
7:30 – 7:50 – Zodiac Lovers (Casey Malone and Co.)
8:05 – 8:25 – Del Rio – the band (hard pop-rock)
8:40 – 9:00 -Suit City (harder pop-rock)
9:15 – 9:35 – Robert Childers and guests (hardcore country)
9:50 – 10:10 – Bo White (Bo White is composing original music for this set, a CD of this music will be available the night of the opening)
10:25 – 10:45 – Brent Bagwell and guests (variations on Jazz standards)
