Rare Disease Day is a global movement dedicated to raising awareness and honoring the 300 million people worldwide living with a rare disease, half of them children. Each year, communities come together to stand with families navigating rare diagnoses and to remind them they are supported.
Meet up for Rare Disease Day at SouthPark Mall, 4400 Sharon Road, Charlotte, North Carolina, on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for a family-friendly event with the Ward’s Foundation team and their partners at Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital.
The event takes place in the atrium near the escalators.
Enjoy getting your face painted, jazzing up your arm with a glitter tattoo, listening to your favorite book in the storytime area, caring for a zebra in the stuffed animal clinic, and taking a photo with mascot Ziggy the Zebra!
