Gaston County Parks, Recreation & Tourism is hosting a Kids’ Catfish Tournament on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 8 a.m. It takes place at Dallas Park, 1303 Dallas-Cherryville Highway, Dallas, North Carolina. Specifically, at the end of Leisure Lane past the dog park at the two lakes.
This event is for kids ages 3-15. It’s FREE to compete, and prizes will be given out throughout the tournament.
You can sign up on site starting at 8 a.m., or you can register in advance.
Please wear shoes you don’t mind getting wet or muddy, no sandals. Bring your own fishing pole, bait and any tackle you may want/need.
All kids must be accompanied by an adult who can help bait their fishing pole and assist handling any fish caught. Adults are not permitted to fish during the tournament.
