Celebrate the Indian Flower Festival(Bathukamma) on Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 1 to 8 p.m., at Cuthbertson High School, 1400 Cuthbertson Road, Waxhaw, North Carolina.
This is a free event, open to all.
Bathukamma is a flower festival celebrated by the women of Telangana and some parts of Andhra Pradesh from India. Bathukamma is a “festival of life,” and is a celebration of femininity, as well.
Every year this festival is celebrated for nine days, usually in September or October.
A Bathukamma is a brightly colored flower stack, arranged with seasonal flowers. Preparing a Bathukamma is a folk art.
There will be prizes for top Bathukamma, raffle tickets, non-stop Bathukamma Songs, Dandiya, women flashmob, and more.
