Charlotte Mecklenburg Library has announce that summer exhibits are returning to ImaginOn: The Joe & Joan Martin Center, at 300 East 7th Street, Charlotte.
Some Assembly Required, created in partnership with Build-a-Bear Workshop, Inc. runs from May 28th to September 11th, 2022.
Check out a big list of free and cheap things for kids to do around Charlotte during summer break!
Please note that this is NOT a Build-a-Bear workshop and no custom bears will be created.
The 1,200 square foot exhibit is FREE to visit, as is the rest of ImaginOn, including the Spangler Library, The Loft for Teens, The Block for Preteens, Studio I for teens and families and the Park Family Story Lab. Learn about what each of these areas has to offer at Imaginon.org.
Some Assembly Required engages children in fun and challenging activities that help foster the development of key social-emotional skills and highlight Build-A-Bear’s core values: achieve, collaborate, celebrate, give, learn and embrace.
Interactive stations throughout the exhibit introduce STEAM concepts and encourage children to tinker, invent and solve problems.
The exhibit invites children and families to:
- Construct a bridge
- Form a band
- Plant a community garden
- Participating in storytelling
- Do coding/logic
- Participate in construction and mechanical concepts
- Learn about agricultural sustainability
Some Assembly Required is open during ImaginOn building hours:
- Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
ImaginOn is closed on Sundays from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
