ImaginOn’s Summer Exhibit in 2026 is Building Buddies. This is a FREE, hands-on exhibit for kids. ImaginOn is at 300 E 7th Street, Charlotte, North Carolina.
Building Buddies will be available from May 16 to September 5, 2026, whenever ImaginOn is open. It’s designed for ages 2-8.
Building Buddies is an immersive exhibition that features hands-on role-play learning experiences that encourage kids to plan, renovate, decorate, paint, tile, build, and more! Paint with light, lay a garden path, climb a scaffolding, inspect a large drain pipe, build sturdy walls, and more! Join the Building Buddies and help improve the neighborhood.
It’s open during ImaginOn open hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Friday and Saturday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
ImaginOn is closed on Sundays from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
The exhibit is free to visit, as is the rest of ImaginOn, including the Spangler Library, The Loft for Teens, The Block for Preteens, Studio I for teens and families and the Park Family Story Lab. Learn about what each of these areas has to offer at Imaginon.org.
