National Night Out is a program that encourages local police departments to connect with the community in a fun way, and encourages the community members to stand together for safety and awareness. The official date is the first Tuesday in August, although not all communities hold their National Night Out event on that date. Many events also take place in October.
Some National Night Out events are for the general public and some are for members of specific communities or neighborhoods.
There are many National Night Out events being held in the Charlotte area.
Huntersville Police Department is hosting its National Night Out on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Huntersville Athletic Park, 11720 Verhoeff Drive, Huntersville, North Carolina.
This free event features:
- Live DJ
- Bounce houses
- Police cars
- Rescue vehicles
- Police K-9 demos
- Music
- Arts and crafts
- Games and prizes
- Food trucks (food for purchase)
- Drinks
- Games
