Opera Carolina is presenting a free collaborative program celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The event takes place online on Monday, January 18th, 2021. It will be available for FREE, for 24 hours, at Opera Carolina’s Virtual Opera House. Sign up here to watch.
This is a powerful, collaborative concert by the creative team of James Kevin Gray, Frank McGinnis, David Tang, Quentin ‘Q’ Talley and Emily Jarrell Urbanek.
Art Poetry Music fuses music, spoken word and visual art, with selected readings from Dr. King’s iconic speeches.

The program features special guests Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles, Ohavia Philips, Derrick Davis, star of Opera Carolina’s “I Dream” by Douglas Tappin, and visual artworks by Beverly Smith and Tony Moy and Charlotte’s Community Virtual Choir.
