
Opera Carolina is presenting a free program celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Art * Poetry * Music MLK Concert will take place Sunday, January 15th, 2023, at 4 p.m., at Caldwell Presbyterian Church, 1609 East 5th Street, Charlotte, NC.

This event is free to the public, but there is limited capacity, so please RSVP.
The concert features famous works of African-American composers.
African-American Composers:
- James Weldon Johnson
- John W. Work Jr.
- Margaret Bonds
- Florence Price
- Robert Owens
- Edward Boatner
- William Grant Still
- Nkeiru Okeye
- Damien Sneed
Led by Artistic Director, Maestro James Meena.
The concert includes:
- Solos by Opera Carolina’s Resident Company, including soprano Sequina DuBose (“Clara” in Porgy and Bess)
- Readings by local personalities, like MIX 107.9’s Ramona Holloway.
- “Lift Every Voice and Sing” by James Weldon Johnson congregational performance.
Following the concert, there will be a reception with fellowship and refreshments. All ages are welcome!
