Charlotte Mecklenburg Library is presenting tons of free activities during Winter Break 2019/2020, for all age groups. They include films, crafts, holiday celebrations and much more. To see them all, visit the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library website.

Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools’ Winter Break, including weekends, goes from Saturday, December 21st, to Sunday, January 5th, 2020. Make sure to follow each link for details, including the address of the library branch, the age of child the event is for, and to learn if registration is required.
All of these events are free to attend. There are also multiple story times and Paws to Read (reading to dogs.) So check the library’s website for all the options.
ASC Culture Blocks: Drums4Life

Story Explorers: The True Story of the Three Little Pigs

Explore books and stories through activities that include math, science, games and more. Join us for a special program to celebrate Children’s Theatre of Charlotte’s production of The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs. Come enjoy a reading of the picture book by Jon Scieszka, then stay for a drama activity led by a Children’s Theatre teaching artist as part of the Theatre 360 program. We’ll round out our program with a STEAM activity, using recyclables to design new houses for the pigs and testing to see if they are wolf-proof! Be A Lion picks up where the wiz left off. It answers the question, what happens now? After Dorothy clicked her heels and found her way home, Oz was left without a leader. Total chaos takes over. A second-generation evil monkey witch rightfully named Damneesha manages to seize all of OZ. Her mission is to avenge the murder of her mother. Who better to restore order in the Emerald City than The Lion?Be A Lion is fun for the entire family. We are introduced to new characters as well as the familiar ones. 17 original songs that would have you singing them long after the performance. Its like taking the singers from Motown and Hamilton and putting them in Oz.
