Illuminations
Charlotte Concert Band will be presenting Illuminations on February 18th, 2023, at 7 p.m., at Myers Park High School, 2400 Colony Road, Charlotte, NC.
The concert will feature music from acclaimed composers David Maslanka, Eric Whitacre, Alfred Reed, Aaron Copland, and G.F. Handel, along with contemporary compositions from Kevin Day and Cait Nishimura.
Spacetacular
The Charlotte Concert Band presents a very special Spring concert on April 22nd, 2023, at 7 p.m., at the newly renovated Belk-Gambrell Center for the Arts and Civic Engagement on the campus of Queens University of Charlotte (1900 Selwyn Ave. in Charlotte).
The concert is entitled “Spacetacular” and features music inspired by a subject that has captivated the imaginations of people everywhere throughout history: outer space. Come hear music from Richard Strauss, Gustav Holst, Julie Giroux, and the timeless music from John Williams’ score to the original Star Wars Trilogy.
The concert will also showcase area middle school honor band students as part of the annual “Musicians for a Lifetime” program. Ticket and program information coming soon.
Red, White and Brew
The Charlotte Concert Band is proud to conclude their concert season with a Memorial Day Celebration at the Cabarrus Brewing Company, 329 McGill Ave NW in Concord, NC, entitled “Red, White, and Brew.”
The concert will be held on May 27, 2023 (time TBD) and will include patriotic favorites from John Philip Sousa, Frank Ticheli, Adolphus Hailstork, and John Williams. Free admission. Donations accepted and encouraged. Program and additional information coming soon.
