One of the most popular events at The Schiele Museum of Natural History is the annual one-day Fossil Fair.
Fossil Fair takes place Saturday, February 25th, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
At Fossil Fair you can:
- Search for North Carolin fossils
- Meet live animals
- Mine for gemstones
- Find or buy fossils to take home
- Learn about prehistoric life through hands-on activities
- Meet experts
- Shop from vendors
- Participate in scavenger hunts
- Try fossil related crafts
- See a special planetarium lineup featuring the show, “Fossils in Space”

Tickets for Fossil Fair
Tickets for Fossil Fair are $3 plus the cost of regular museum admission, which is $7 for adults, $6 for ages 4-17, and free for children 3 and younger. There’s also an extra charge for the planetarium show.
