For Goodness Cakes provides birthday cakes to kids in foster care and facing adversity — learn how you can help!

Every child deserves to be celebrated, and that’s what For Goodness Cakes seeks to do. The organization, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, matches volunteer bakers with agencies to provide birthday cakes for children in foster care and overcoming adversity.

The Charlotte chapter of For Goodness Cakes currently has 175 volunteers and is always growing. It works with 15 agencies that work to support underprivileged youth in Charlotte. Together they provide each child with a hand-made birthday cake to let them know that they are seen on their special day.

Getting Involved with For Goodness Cakes

Would you like to help this organization celebrate more children? There are several ways that you can lend a hand.

Volunteer to bake birthday cakes. Learn how to get involved. There’s an online orientation that will get you started.

Make a donation. Although the volunteers donate the cake ingredients, there are other costs to running the organization. For Goodness Cakes uses proprietary software in order to match bakers, agencies and children.

Partner with For Goodness Cakes as an agency. For Goodness Cakes partners specifically with 501c3 certified agencies who work with youth and young adults experiencing adversity. For Goodness Cakes acts as the organizer between the volunteers and the agencies who serve the birthday cake recipients. The program is 100% free for the partner agencies.
