FOMO: Museum Block Party is the biggest museum block party in Charlotte. It takes place Wednesday, April 15, 2026, starting at 5 p.m.
It’s a free public activation across three Uptown Charlotte museums:
- The Mint Museum, 500 S Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC
- Harvey B. Gantt Center for African American Arts + Culture, 551 S Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC
- Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, 420 S Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC
This is a free event, and no ticket is required.
Each Museum’s Programming
Gantt Center:
At the Gantt, honor the themes of “National Poetry Month” and “Jazz Appreciation Month” with a spoken word poetry performance by Mia Love Live from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm, followed by a Mo Betta jazz performance from 7 pm – 9 pm, led by Braxton Bateman on trumpet.
This will also be a great opportunity to view the three current exhibitions, Jazz Greats: Classic Photographs from the Bank of America Collection, In Pursuit of Home, and Presence of Color, before they close on April 26th.
Bechtler Museum:
At the Bechtler, enjoy free admission, beer and wine cash bars inside and out, and music in the lobby from DJ Niyah Whya. Step onto the plaza for a special community activation by Friday Table in partnership with Love Bolt, an immersive experience with guided conversation and thoughtfully arranged seating—designed to feel like visiting a friend’s home.
Mint Museum Uptown:
In partnership with Steinway Piano Gallery, enjoy the sounds of a curated piano performance by Ethan Uslan. Uslan’s vast repertoire includes original arrangements of New Orleans Jazz, blues, and ragtime.
A three-time winner of the World Championship Old-Time Piano Playing Contest, Uslan has performed throughout the United States and Europe. He was also prominently featured in the documentary “The Entertainers” and his jazz rendition of Bach’s “Minuet in G” was used in the AMC series “Interview With the Vampire.”
