Take a Child Outside Week is week-long celebration of the benefits of kids spending time outside. It was inspired by Richard Louv’s book “Last Child in the Woods.”
Take a Child Outside Week takes place every year from September 24 to 30.
Many organizations around the country plan special outdoor events for kids during the week, although dates might vary.
Huntersville, North Carolina, is participating in Take a Child Outside Week with free events in parks from September 23 to 27, 2024. None of these events require registration.
These events were announced on Huntersville Parks & Recreation’s Facebook page, so that’s a good place to look for more detail.
