Around the Crown 10K debuted in 2019. It affords runners a chance to run the whole 3-mile inner loop, I-277. The rest of the route meanders through the streets of Uptown Charlotte. In 2022 it begins and ends at Truist Field.
It’s become a Charlotte Labor Day tradition. Race day is Sunday, September 4th, 2022, with a 7:30 a.m. start time.

- Through May 27th: $45
- May 28th to July 29th: $50
- July 30th to September 2nd: $55
- Expo, September 3rd: $60
- Race Day, September 4th: $70

There’s also a Kids Run, which costs $15. Participants get a Recover Brands participant shirt, a custom finisher item and get to attend the finishers festival.
Feetures First Timers Club
There’s a special rate for first time 10K racers. For just $20 first-timers can get a race entry and training package from Around the Crown 10K. There are only 100 spots. Learn more about the First Timers Club and register.
Expo
The Around the Crown 10K Expo takes place Saturday, September 3rd, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., at Camp North End, 1803 N. Graham Street, Charlotte.
If you haven’t signed up yet, this will be your last chance to sign up for a discounted price ($60) instead of the day of race price ($70.) If you have signed up you can pick up your race packet at the Expo.
Your race packet will include:
- ATC10K shirt
- Race bib
- Cold beer
- Goodies from a lot of local companies
Everyone is welcome to the Expo, whether or not you’re running in the race. There will be vendor booths with a focus on the Charlotte active, outdoor community. Look for fitness clothing, shoes, training aids and more.
The Expo will also include a pre-run with Mad Miles, a celebration of all things college football and HBCUs, as part of Duke’s Mayo Classic weekend, a kids’ run, music and more.
