The Eastern Cabarrus Historical Society Museum is open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. through October.
Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.
The museum is housed in a building of the former Mount Pleasant Collegiate Institute, at 1145 N. College Street, Mt. Pleasant, NC.
Adults and children will enjoy touring the museum’s 30 themed rooms that celebrate the history of the area.
The Museum building contains 30 rooms holding artifacts, photographs and documents relating to the history of Eastern Cabarrus County and beyond.
Each room is themed and contains items donated or loaned to the Society by local individuals and families ranging from old farm tools and vintage clothing to items from the Civil War through the Iraq War.
On Sunday, July 11th, 2021, at 2:30 p.m., the museum will host Genealogy 101. This is a FREE program for anyone interested in genealogy, but doesn’t know how to start.
It will be presented by Denise McLain from the Cabarrus County Library.
