In September and October, Charlotte is bursting with Oktoberfest celebrations. You’ll find them at breweries, restaurants, music venues and more.
At some of these celebrations you can enjoy beer that’s not available other times of years. At some you can enjoy beer stein hoisting competitions, and more. One of the biggest Oktoberfest celebrations in Charlotte is Mecktoberfest, at Olde Mecklenburg Brewing.
We will keep adding to the list, so keep checking back!
Traditionally, Oktoberfest is an annual 16-18 day folk festival in Munich, held in mid or late September to the first weekend in October. Large quantities of beer are consumed at Oktoberfest. There are also amusement rides, live music, traditional foods, and games.
The first Oktoberfest was held on October 12th, 1810, to celebrate the marriage of King Ludwig I and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen.
Of course, Oktoberfest has grown since then. The Munich festival is huge, and you’ll find celebrations all over the world.
Know of more Oktoberfest celebrations that should be added to the list? Just send an email to info@charlotteonthecheap.com and we’ll try to get it on the list.
