Puppet Tuesday October Schedule
Every Tuesday in October, 2026, at 4 p.m., Actor’s Shadow Puppet Company presents “A Midnight Dreary: From the Mind of Edgar Allen Poe.” This is a free event.
This is much more than a puppet show. It blends puppetry, live acting, film, dramatic reading, and spooky sounds in an immersive performance of several of Edgar Allen Poe’s works.
If you’re a Poe fan, look at the set carefully. There are many Edgar Allen Poe “Easter eggs.”
There’s no age requirement, but it might be best for ages 11 and up. There is implied violence (to and by puppets.)
After the show, someone with a pumpkin head may hand out candy from a little coffin. (No promises.)
Cafe VisArt will be open for snacks and drinks.
This event is sponsored by Culture Blocks, a community partnership funded by Mecklenburg County.
