National Night Out is a program that encourages local police departments to connect with the community in a fun way, and encourages the community members to stand together for safety and awareness. The official date is the first Tuesday in August, although not all communities hold their National Night Out event on that date. Many events also take place in October.
Some National Night Out events are for the general public and some are for members of specific communities or neighborhoods.
Charlotte Center City Partners and CMPD are hosting Center City National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, 6 to 8 p.m., at Victoria Yards, 209 E 7th Street, Charlotte, North Carolina.
This is a free event. It includes free food, kids’ activities and more:
- Meet & Greet with Law Enforcement: Connect with law enforcement and learn more about local safety programs.
- Community Resources: Stop by booths from local organizations offering info on health, safety, and community services.
- Kids’ Activities: Play family friendly games and activities.
- Food & Refreshments: Complimentary food and drinks for all attendees!
- Entertainment: Dance to the beats of a local DJ—fun for all ages!
