
Trips for Kids is hosting Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Colonel Francis Beatty Park, 4330 Weddington Road, Matthews, North Carolina. The event hub is in the field between the pump track and the tennis courts.
This is a free event, but RSVP is required. Registration caps out at 50 youth participants, so don’t delay.
At TFKC’s “Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day” Youth + Family trail ride celebration, expect:
- Guided MTB trail rides (youth ages 9-16)
- Skills ‘n’ drills practice
- Crafts
- Bike safety education
- A little bike rodeo (for younger siblings not quite trail ready)
- Pump track practice
- FREE Lunch
- Raffles
- Participation prizes
- Mentorship
- FREE community fun!
- Bikes and helmets can be provided (at no cost!) to all registered youth to use during this event.
Trips for Kids Charlotte, a 501c3 nonprofit, has the mission of transforming lives, communities, and landscapes through cycling.
While you’re there, learn about Trips for Kids’ free Earn-a-Bike Program. Participants in this program receive a bike, helmet, light set and lock to own, 100% free for participating in classes on bike safety, skills instruction, and maintenance.
