Zealous Empowering Nurturer, Incorporated (ZEN) is a nonprofit organization with the mission of lessening food insecurities by providing the community access to a garden where they can grow their own fresh foods, become educated on the benefits of gardening, learn from one another, and build friendships. In addition, ZEN developed programs to actively promote healthy eating in the Charlotte, NC community.
ZEN’s Garden For The Community as Charlotte’s educational edible landscape hub—a living classroom and gathering space that supports all of ZEN’s programs.

Mobile Market Pop Up Pantry
One of the programs is the Mobile Market Pop Up Pantry. These events put farm-fresh fruits, vegetables and pantry staples into the hands of families who need them.
At each event, individuals can register to receive a Zealous Meal Kit—complete with all the ingredients to prepare a healthy, delicious meal at no cost.
The mobile markets pop up pantries take place at Keith YMCA, 8100 Old Mallard Creek Road, Charlotte, North Carolina, at 2 p.m., on these dates:

- September 20, 2026
