The Levine Center for the Arts’ Wednesday Night Live takes place every Wednesday evening.
The three museums that are part of Levine Center for the Arts — Mint Museum Uptown, The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, and the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture — are free to visit every Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The Levine Museum of the New South has also joined the event, at its location at the former Wells Fargo Museum, 401 S Tryon Street.
In addition, there will free entertainment programming at one of the museums or at Knight Theater.

The Gantt and Eclectic Soul Sessions present, “Respect The Mic” Vol. 2 – a special edition of the popular live spoken word and music series created and hosted by poet Sir Abstraxxx.
Eclectic Soul Sessions is a long-standing weekly event series that centers the art of poetry. Guests experience original spoken word from some of the best poets in the city, hear live music and curated DJ sets, and enjoy the vibes of Charlotte’s young creative professionals. This series is a must-attend event for lovers of art, culture, and raw talent.
In honor of the Gantt’s latest exhibition, American Gurl, each artist will present a poem inspired by its themes, which explore identity, culture, and the complexities of the Black American woman’s experience.
“Respect The Mic” Vol. 2 is more than just a performance; it’s an immersive experience that blends contemporary and vintage sound, heartfelt spoken word, and captivating visuals to create a space where art and community intersect. Join in the inspiration and be transported by a powerful lineup of artists who will leave a lasting impression.
Featured artists include APoetNamedSuperman, Tamaka Stalley, Frank Expression, Bluz, Tu Kool Tiff, The Gawd Spiff, Stay Cozy, Sir Abstraxxx, and K.Ashe.
Line, Shape, and Symmetry: Artmaking Inspired by Virginia Jaramillo

Explore the intersection of art and geometry at this hands-on artmaking event, celebrating the opening of Virginia Jaramillo: Principle of Equivalence. Inspired by Jaramillo’s intricate use of geometric patterns in her works, guests are invited to create their own spirograph designs, mandalas, and line drawings. Engage in the calming process of weaving with fabric and string, or color pre-drawn pages inspired by the artist’s work. This event invites creativity, introspection, and an appreciation for the art of balance and proportion. There is something for everyone—no experience necessary.

Su Casa Afro-fusion Dance Party is founded and curated by Jasiatic Usher. Enjoy an evening of music and movement, spinning Afrobeat, Soca, Reggae, Afro-house, and other sounds provided by DJ Steel Wheel. Music starts at 6 p.m. There will be a cash bar.
