
Trouble So Hard: Songs & Stories of Slavery, Freedom, & Civil Rights takes place Friday, June 20, 2025, at 7:30 p.m., at Davis Theatre, 65 Union Street South, Concord, North Carolina.
This concert is free to attend.
Blending songs and stories from a variety of folk and protest musics, “Trouble So Hard” is a musical and narrative journey along a timeline that begins with the arrival of the first Black West African enslaved people and carries into the present day. Trouble So Hard features four outstanding local musicians led by Harry Taylor, a mainstay of the Charlotte folk music community.
