The Trailhead Store at Stowe Village, 6500 South New Hope Road, Belmont, North Carolina, is part of Daniel Stowe Conservancy. It’s free to visit, as it’s not within Stowe Garden.
The store offers sandwiches, drinks and snacks, as well as a comfortable porch and picnic table seating.
You can use the Trailhead Store as a starting point to 8 miles of trails, including woodlands, meadows and water features. Pick up a trail map in the store.
Stowe Conservancy presents many events, with some of them, like Pickin’ on the Porch, taking place at the Trailhead store. Find all upcoming events here.
There’s also a dog park on site. Plus, leashed dogs are welcome on the porch, trails and picnic area. They’re not allowed inside the store or in the gardens.
Also in Stowe Village is the Farmhouse Garden Center, which is open seasonally. Shop here for houseplants, gardening tools, decor and more.
Trailhead Store Birthday Bash
The Trailhead Store at Stowe Conservancy is celebrating its second birthday with a Birthday Bash on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m.
It’s free to attend. No registration is required.
- 1 to 4 p.m.: Food trucks will be on site and birthday cake will be available (while supplies last), so come hungry!
- 1 to 2 p.m.: Stowe Adventure Trivia (Prizes include a Family Membership, Garden Admission tickets and a tote packed with Stowe merch!)
- 2 to 4 p.m.: Pickin’ on the Porch returns for 2026! Enjoy a musical performance from Nathan A. Dowdy.
- 2 to 2 p.m.: Cornhole Tournament
- All day: Grand re-opening of the Farmhouse Garden Center for the season
