Every Friday at 4 p.m., there’s a free walking tour at Camp North End, 1824 Statesville Avenue.
To attend, you need to RSVP to the eventbrite event. There’s a separate one for each Friday. You should be able to find the event for each Friday here.
Camp North End is one of the largest adaptive reuse projects in the country. The 75-acre, historic industrial site was used in the past as a Model T factory and a U.S. Army Quartermaster Depot. There’s an old boiler room and a water tower that’s starting to become an iconic landmark.
Today Camp North End is being repurposed, while maintaining its historic structures. There are art studios, co-working spaces, and small businesses. The site is host to a growing number of events, including markets and Friday Night at Camp North End, which includes live music, art, food trucks and more.
The tours meet at 4 p.m. at the water tower. They’re an hour long. After the tour stick around for Friday Nights at Camp North End, which start at 5 p.m. (These events are also free.)
This tour is a chance to learn about the history of the site, see what it looks like right now, and get excited about what it will become in the future.
