The Hands Project at LoSo Studios Sept. 24

The Hands Project is a collaborative community project that began in Charlotte and expanded to neighboring areas.

Artist Lee Ko met with various local contributors including artists, supporters, curators, educators, poets, attorneys, and more. She cast their hands and created collaborative artworks pairing each hand casting with the participant’s own art piece.

Comprising 106 completed works featuring 107 individual hand castings, the project will be presented across a four-venue exhibition tour, with the very first exhibition launching on September 24, 2026, at LoSo Studio, 113 Freeland Lane, Charlotte, North Carolina.

The opening reception will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., and is free and open to the public.

In an era where everything is shifting toward digital, this project focuses on the analog record of the traces left by our lives in our hands. You’re invited to come and see whose hands work to make our community more beautiful and what unique colors they hold.

This is also a fundraising event, and all proceeds from the exhibitions and the accompanying art book will be used to support local foster care organizations and community art groups in need.
