
Join the Levine Museum of the New South to commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday at a special screening and community discussion of Selma, the award-winning film that powerfully chronicles the 1965 Selma-to-Montgomery marches and King’s leadership during one of the most pivotal moments of the Civil Rights Movement.
Learning from Selma takes place Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 6 p.m., at Carolina Theatre, 230 N Tryon Street, Charlotte, North Carolina.
Tickets go on sale Friday, December 19, 2025, at 10 a.m. Check back soon for the ticket price.
The evening will begin with a brief opening reception, offering space for reflection, connection and community before the film. Following the screening, participants will receive a thoughtfully crafted discussion guide designed to deepen understanding and inspire action throughout the year.
