The beautifully restored Carolina Theatre, 230 N Tryon Street, Charlotte, North Carolina, is presenting sCarolina in October, 2025. This movie series features eight horror movies shown on the big screen in a historic theatre, plus one live performance.
Some highlights of the series are Rocky Horror Picture Show, with actors and prop bags, Halloween (on Halloween) and storyteller Donna Washington.
Tickets are $16.05 for the movies and $22.05 for the live storytelling performance. Rocky Horror, with the actors, is $28.40.
Carolina Theatre is its own ghost story. After sitting abandoned and vacant in Uptown Charlotte for 47 years, it was resurrected in March, 2025. It’s said to have a resident ghost or two, who probably aren’t too happy about being disturbed after all these years.

- Wednesday, Oct. 29, 7 p.m.: Night of the Living Dead (1968)
- Thursday, Oct. 30, 7:30 p.m.: Donna Washington: Of Blood and Bone
- Friday, Oct. 31, 7 p.m.: Halloween (1978)
