Paws in the Park is a free event on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.. at Pineville Lake Park, 1000 Johnston Drive, Pineville.

This is a free, family-friendly event, and will be held rain or shine. Look for updates on the Facebook event.

The event is brought to you by Charlotte Black Dogs, and highlights dogs up for adoption, especially black dogs, which are less likely to be adopted.

The event features:

Food trucks
Vendors
Dog contests
Entertainment

The dog contests:

Smallest dog (1 year old and up)
Largest dog (measured around the chest)
Best dog trick
Best dressed female
Best dressed male
Best themed group (min of 2 dogs, and max of 5 dogs per group)

Schedule:

10 a.m.: Event opens w/ DJ Darin Page Henley
10:30 a.m.: Dare Devil Dogs Frisbee show by large shelter
11:30 a.m.: Blessing of the Animals at stage (FREE)
12 p.m.: Dog Contests at stage (FREE to enter)
1 to 3 p.m.: Chairmen of the Board at stage
2:30 p.m.: Dare Devil Dogs Frisbee show by large shelter
3 p.m.: Event ends
