The fall colors in the mountains are getting past their peak in November, but this list also includes some scenic byways near Charlotte that have a later season. Check this post to see if your occupation, or that of a family member, grants you free museum admission for the rest of the year. Head to Camp North End for the We Are Hip Hop Reveal on November 6th and 7th. It will feature tons of pop-up performances, art installations, DJ battles and more. All free. Drive through the Cleveland County Fairgrounds "shooting" dinos with Nerf guns. Hikes in the woods, self-guided neighborhood or art tours, garden strolls...there are plenty of places to stretch your legs and enjoy the season. Black Lion, on Park Road, has many sessions set up for visits with Santa. Kids can talk to him safely, through the storefront window, and you'll still be able to get great pictures. Free. Load up the family and check out all these light displays! In mid-November, Light, an art installation on a trail in the woods, returns to the U.S. National Whitewater Center.
