North Carolina Zoo, at 4401 Zoo Parkway, Asheboro, North Carolina, is offering $5 admission to people affected by Hurricane Helene through December 24, 2024. This is an extension of the original offer. However, it will not be available the weekend after Thanksgiving, November 29 to December 1.
If you’ve been affected by Hurricane Helene and live in one of the following counties, just request the $5 rate (per person), extendable to five additional guests in the same party. You must present a valid form of North Carolina ID indicating residence within one of these counties:
Alexander, Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Clay, Cleveland, Gaston, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mecklenburg, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Swain, Transylvania, Watauga, Wilkes, Yancey, and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
Discovery Place is also offering $3 admission (through the end of October), and Carolina Raptor Center is offering free admission (through the end of 2024), to those affected by Hurricane Helene.
