QC Family Tree is hosting a celebration for Nina Simone Day on Sunday, April 26, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Marian House, 2910 Parkway Avenue, Charlotte, North Carolina.
This is a free event.
Nina Simone Day is not an official holiday, but QC Family Tree is celebrating the North Carolina singer, songwriter and civil rights activist with this special event. This is a time of celebrating courage, strength, fierceness, and truth telling.
On Nina Simone Day at QC Family Tree:
- Listen to the music of Nina Simone
- Wear read
- Create armor or talismans for one another and gift it to each other with prayers of protection
- Sing songs and prayers of intercession, truth, and justice
- Build a fire and watch the flames flicker, and pray that lies will be burned away by embers of justice and truth
