If you’re a Mecklenburg County home-owner you might be able to receive a grant up to $650. Town of Davidson residents are eligible to receive an additional award of up to $534.
Funds will be paid to the Mecklenburg County Tax Collector, who will reduce the total amount of taxes due for your primary residence.
The awarded amount will be 35% of the Mecklenburg County tax amount on the recipient’s 2025 tax bill (or a maximum of $650), rounded to the nearest dollar.
The Helping Out Mecklenburg homeowners with Economic Support (HOMES) Program provides grants to qualifying residential homeowners to help address the rising costs of retaining their homes.
Applications are accepted from July 1 to November 21, 2025, and the grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, until the funds are exhausted, so don’t delay in applying if you’re eligible.
If you need help with the process, please call 980-314-4663 (HOME)or email 4homes@mecknc.gov.
