McColl Park is a new urban park space, where Thomas Polk Park used to be. It’s at 108 S Tryon Street, Charlotte, North Carolina. That’s at The Square at Trade and Tryon. See the map below.

The park features a sculpture called The Nest, inspired by Charlotte’s historical description as a “Hornet’s Nest of Rebellion.” The Nest comprises fifty six-foot tall suspended cylinders that appear to float above the trees.
The park also includes a series of gardens, decorative paving, seating and a water mirror. Benches, tables and chairs will be in the park.
The park honors philanthropist and former Bank of America Chairman and CEO Hugh L. McColl Jr.
Grand Opening of McColl Park
The grand opening celebration is on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 12 to 4 p.m. It’s free to attend.
The festival will include live music, entertainment, food and refreshments, as well as a chance to learn about the park and the new art installation.

You can find some free on-street parking as well, here and there.
The Gold Line Streetcar runs right beside the site. The LYNX Blue Line Light Rail CTC stop is a block away.
