Lulu’s Express, at 2400 Tuckaseegee Road, Charlotte, North Carolina, is known for their Maryland-style crab cakes, but leading up to Thanksgiving, they’re turning their attention to turkey.
Lulu’s Express is hosting the Big Turkey Pull Up on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 4 p.m. They’ll be handing out FREE turkeys to 25 families. It’s first come, first served, while supplies last. Announced on Facebook and a press release.

Since opening just before pre-COVID, LuLu’s has always given back to the local community, whether by providing free meals to children during the pandemic or sponsored meals during the holiday months for those in need. LuLu’s continues to be one of Charlotte’s top Black-owned restaurants that still thrives, despite the Charlotte restaurant industry’s recent challenges.
Founded in November 2019, LuLu’s Maryland-style Chicken and Seafood – now known as LuLu’s Express – is the premiere destination for Maryland-style and soul food-style seafood and chicken dishes in North Carolina. Named for owner Jay Davis’ mother, the restaurant is famously known for its jumbo lump crab cake and is a favorite of celebrities both locally in Charlotte and nationally.
