On April 8, 2024, we will experience a partial solar eclipse in North Carolina. At approximately 3:12 p.m. (depending where you are) there will be around 80% coverage.

Lake Norman State Park, at 14212 State Road, Statesville, North Carolina, is hosting an Eclipse Viewing Shindig on Monday, April 8, 2024, from 2 to 4 p.m. Meet at the swim beach. This is a free event.
Make sure to use look at the sun only if you’re using an approved solar viewer that meets ISO 12312-2 international standards. You can also use a pinhole viewer. Imagination Station will have some viewers on hand, or you can purchase one ahead of time to make sure that you have one. (See below for some suggestions.)
